Greensboro College Youth Outreach

Greensboro College is primarily an undergraduate college, offering graduate programs in three areas. Coeducational and independent, the institution is located near downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded in 1838 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The College is located on nearly 80 acres of tree-lined grounds in a historical district bordering the heart of the city of Greensboro. The convenient location provides easy access to major attractions, the cultural arts district, shopping and fine arts venues.

Youth Outreach Greensboro College students share in the responsibility and joy of reaching out to their younger peers. This is organized through three summer programs.

 •The North Carolina United Methodist All-State Youth Choir Auditions occur in February around the state, and this year’s camp takes place June 20-27, 2010. This is an exciting opportunity for rising ninth graders through high school seniors to participate in the high-quality, Christian music camp. The camp includes music rehearsals, private vocal instruction, a talent show, a trip to a water park, and the tour to United Methodist Churches.  •The Leading EdgeThe Leading Edge is a three day leadership training event designed for high school youth. This year’s academy will take place June 17-19, 2010 with the theme of leadership with peace and justice. High school students will have the opportunity to develop and nurture leadership qualities through small groups, worship services, workshops and team building activities.  •The BIG EventThe BIG Event is a high energy youth rally with a band, speakers, game, food and tons of inspiration. This year we welcome 7 Miles as our musical guest. Please confirm the approximate number of youth and fill out the form below to pre-register your group. Exact numbers are not necessary but a good estimate helps us prepare for enough food for the event. Register now and bring your money to pay at the door. This year the BIG EVENT will be September 19, 2010. Registration and doors open at 3:30pm. Cost is $10.00 per person for registered groups. $15.00 per person to register at the door.
